Green Smoothie

dairy-free; gluten-free & yeast-free

This powerful delicious smoothie is an amazing meal in a glass!

Serves 4 to 5

¼ large cucumber
1 stick celery with its leaves, chopped
½ small pineapple, peeled and chopped
3 medium apples, cored and chopped
2 tbsp (30 ml) freshly squeezed lemon juice
3 cups (750 ml) purified water
handful of ice (optional)
handful of spinach or rocket leaves
handful of sprouts like mung bean or alfalfa (optional)

flesh of ½ ripe avocado

Place all the ingredients in a power blender and blend until smooth. Thin down with more water if necessary.

Variations

  • Add a handful of pitted dates 
  • Add ½ cup coconut milk or cream
  • Add 1 tbsp of your favourite green superfood, such as moringa powder
