Natural Deodorant

This all-natural deodorant works like a bomb (even in SUMMER!), is easy to make and very economical. It is aluminium-free, will not stain your clothes and adheres to the adage: “If you can’t eat it, don’t apply it to your skin!”

3 tbsp organic coconut oil
2 tbsp bicarbonate of soda
2 tbsp Arrowroot powder
10 – 12 drops essential oil of choice

Leave the coconut oil for a couple of minutes in the sun to soften and then mix in the rest of the ingredients till a paste is formed. Mix in your favourite essential oil as fragrance – lemon grass, lavender or rose geranium works well! Store the paste in a glass jar and apply as needed under arm pits.

Note

The arrowroot powder ensures better binding of the paste, imparts a silky texture and absorbs perspiration. It could be replaced with tapioca or corn starch
